Kristianstad University

Kristianstad University was founded in 1977 and offers over 40 programs and 450 courses to approximately 14000 students and has 500 staffs. Among the four faculties (Business, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences and Teacher Education), the most active fields of research are biosphere, health/sustainability, food- and health science. In the 2017 higher education intake, Kristianstad received the most applications from all university colleges in Sweden.

Kristianstad University has positioned itself as a university that focuses on integrating theory and practice. Encounters with the private sector, public agencies and other organisations provide education and research with added value. As the only university in Sweden, Kristianstad University offers a minimum of five-week work placement in all programmes in collaboration with various agencies, hospitals, elderly care, businesses and organisations in all programs. At graduation, the students are highly employable and prepared for working life.

Work-integrated learning is also a field of research and the multidisciplinary team of researchers study it from different theories and perspectives. The university's research is conducted in close collaboration with the main programmes and in partnership with organisations and companies in order to ensure the research is relevant, innovative and implemented.

Neapolis University Pafos

Neapolis University Pafos (NUP) is a privately owned university located in Pafos, Cyprus. It was founded in 2010 and in addition to abiding to the uppermost academic standards through a highly competitive curriculum, it strives to become an institution where research is the main focus. NUP is accredited by the Cyprus Government and its degrees are recognized as equivalent to those by Higher Education Institutions in other EU member states.

It offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs that reflect its philosophy in developing a balanced portfolio of academic activities. Environmental Impact Assessment and Sustainability Management, Counseling Psychology and in Digital Video Production. The university also operates a number of its post-graduate programs via distance learning platforms. Paderborn University

Paderborn University (UPB) stands both for modern education and innovative research. With its mission as a "University for the Information Society", UPB embodies the concept of a modern profile university. The decisive pooling of resources in the catalogue of its subjects and disciplines in its five faculties of Arts and Humanities, Business Administration and Economics, Science, Mechanical Engineering, and of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematics lead to a concentration of the research activities in all those fields that are of fundamental importance to the continuing development of the Information Society.

With a student population of nearly 20.000, more than 2.500 staff members and 251 professors, the UPB belongs to mid-sized universities in Germany. The annual externally funded budget of more than 50 million euros is about 25% of its budget (2018). UPB has been participating in the European Research Framework Programmes for more than 20 years, with over 30 projects in FP7, 28 in Horizon 2020 and so far 30 Erasmus+ projects.

University of Ferrara

The University of Ferrara (UNIFE) is one of the four universities present in the Emilia Romagna Region in Italy, a dynamic region in the Northern part of the country. UNIFE has about 29,000 students and has 13 Departments, in Architecture, Economics – Management, Law, Humanities, Engineering, Physics – Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Medicine, Life sciences, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical sciences. It also has a Faculty of Medicine linked to the main hospital of the city and the province of Ferrara.

Teaching and Research at UNIFE is of high quality as recognised by the evaluation of the Ministry of University (e.g. it has several Departments of Excellence). Strongly rooted in the region, UNIFE has established a large regional network and developed long-standing collaborations with local stakeholders, but also strong international linkages in the research networks of UNIFE professors and researchers, as well as numerous international research projects such as Horizon 2020.

Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha

UCLM is a young university, with a high teaching and research potential. It has four campuses located in four cities: Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo. It is a modern, competitive institution, which hosted 26.953 students, 2847 lecturers and researchers and 1.188 administrative and services staff members during the academic course 2021-2022. This implies having a great human capital at the institution, making it a smart option for those who wish to improve their lifelong learning and also for international students who chase their academic, vital or language enrichment. UCLM integrates 36 academic departments offering 59 degree qualifications, having two peculiar features: a) it is multidisciplinary, undertaking work in practically all branches of knowledge; and b) its activities are very wide-ranging, embracing the spectrum from basic research to technological development.

Moreover, UCLM possesses an important attractiveness for industry, since they are able to find opportunities to optimise their Research and Development (R&D) options for the wide research catalogue through their Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office. A total of 16 R&D contracts were managed under the 6th Framework Program (FP6), 39 under FP7 and CIP, 49 H2020 and COSME, as well as 13 granted projects under the new European framework program HORIZON EUROPE and COSME. UCLM also has a wide experience of participation in other European and international R&D programs, with a total of 121 projects granted from 2002 until now. 45 of them under Erasmus+ programs (2014-2020 and 2021-2027). All these projects are managed through the European and International R&D Projects Office), which was officially established in 2008 and has extensive experience in this field.  

In addition, since 2019, the UCLM has its Science Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) of UCLM, which aims to make understandable the value of the work of scientists to society with the objective of increasing the scientific culture of citizens and their interest in the Science, Technology and Innovation.
